Christmas Gift Ideas - Don't Be In The Dog Box When You Buy Your Wife A Vacuum Cleaner!

I read an article recently of some of the worst presents or gifts that men have purchased for their wife or significant other. One guy bought his wife some buck shot for a gun. He was a bit of a mountain man so you could say it was relevant to the surroundings but not sure how cherished it would be by his better half. Typical gifts that are a definite no no are household cleaning products - buying a new washing machine might not go down so well. Buying a vacuum cleaner would get an even worse response. But that may not be the case with this special vacuum cleaner, or more precisely, this robot vacuum cleaner.

The product in question is the Roomba range of vacuum cleaners. They are do it themselves cleaning devices. Depending on the type of Roomba you have and the various accessories that you get with it, you could fully automate the cleaning of your carpets and floors and take a bit of tedium or boredom out of everyday household chores. Your wife will thank you for this time saving device and, to be honest, it'll probably save the fellas a bit of time too as they should be doing a few of the household chore too.

You can set these machines to turn on when you are out of the house, say at work. Or you could even set it to come to life at night when and vacuum the lounge area when you are tucked up in bed and fast asleep. Wake up to a clean lounge carpet in the morning.

Most of the Roomba vacuum cleaners have a charging base. The machine will start from this location in a room and systematically go round the whole room cleaning what ever surface is traverses. When it has made a complete run, it will return to the charging base to get recharged and ready for the next run.

Some of these devices even come with infra red towers that mean you can set the cleaner to move around in a specific part of the room. This is handy if you have items of furniture that might be disturbed by the machine moving over them.

There are various types of Roomba, from the standard carpet cleaning system to a more deep brushing system that is more suited to homes that have pets living indoors. Another model is designed for wet washing floors and linoleum surfaces. This is called the Scooba.

And there is even a model for the fellas, the Dirt Dog is designed to clean up garages, sheds and workshops. It has a bigger dirt tray that can handle larger objects that you may come across in a workshop, like nuts and bolts, that you wouldn't expect to see in a lounge room.

A Roomba robotic vacuum cleaner could be the perfect Christmas gift for all the family as I'd say most people hate doing the household chores. It might not be a overly romantic gift, but your wife will soon she the benefit of it after it has gone round the house a few times.
